Default Is there more light with foglights?

I asked this in another post but I'll start a new one here.
How much light do the fogs add? Seems like the low beams alone throw off alot of light in front of the car.
Are they even worth it?
Thanks.

mostly for looks, but ive had both OEM fogs and now VRD fogs, the OEM fogs definitely added alot of foreground and had a nice low cutoff, a big improvement if your using stock headlights!

the VRDs on the other hand are very poorly engineered from a lighting standpoint, they are scattered without a uniform beam, they throw random light left and right, and with HIDs they can be pretty blinding to oncoming traffic (ive personnally seen this) but with yellow bulbs (like i have now) they look awesome and help a little (definitely wont hurt)

I have the VRDs as well and there is enough light to drive with just them at night lol, however with the headlights turned on you cant even seen them unless you look right in front of the car. I have not dealt with the OEM ones

Fog lights and Driving lights are two different things. Fogs are meant for close to the car lighting facing towards the outer edges of the road and driving lights are for additional lighting to compensate for what your headlights don't light up when turned on. How you use them and what bulbs you put in either is up to you. Fogs tend to not have an oncoming traffic friendly pattern and driving lights do. The OEM ones probably have the best pattern for DOT compliance and visibility. The VRD's look way better though.

Yea, I have the VRD fogs, they are mostly for show but if you can find a good deal on a set I would definitely get them.

i have ebay fog lights, at first they didnt really do much, just for show, but when i installed my HID's big difference, the range of lighting increased and so did the light output.

Fogs are basically an aesthetic mod. Slightly more function with the OE fogs vs VRDs.

i have the oem fog lights. in my opinion, there is more light when the fog lights are on. at night time, its sad to say, but you can't really notice much light coming from the headlights unless you stand in front of the car (as someone had stated earlier), but with the fog lights on you can actually see a stream of light in front of the car. my apologies for not having any experience with the vrd's or any other aftermarket fog light.

Thanks for the responses. I'm interested in the OE type fog lights. I want more light. I'm not trying to make it look any better, especially since I can't see what it looks like while I'm driving.
And I guess it seems like the OE type gives off more light, so that helps me make a decision.
I was also thinking of putting hid's in it. So I'm glad to hear that makes even more of a difference.
Now how about this one?: Put hid's in the low beams, or get fogs and put hid's in that?

i wouldn't just put HID's in any of them. why? because installing HID's without a proper retrofit will make the beam look horrible. if you don't have a proper projector retrofit, the light produced from the HID's will scatter everwhere. this will make it seem as you have on highbeams or something which will probably blind a lot of motorist and increase your chances of getting unncessary attention from cops. just my opinion from seeing cars with only an HID kit.

HIDs are not meant for fog lights, you will blind people

im not a fan of aftermarket hids in reflector halogen housing, but if you must i say HIDs in the fogs would be better since there should be less light scatter
