Default AEM CAI air filter foglight clearance

Fwiw...the easiest way to remedy the air filter/foglight problem is simply to loosen the air filter clamp and slide it further down the aluminum intake tube. Just loosen the AF hose clamp, use your finger and pry the rubber AF base up off the tube a bit and lightly spray some WD-40 between the gap. Twist the AF so it moves easily and then pull it further down on the intake tube until you have a 1/2" clearance between the top of the AF and the base of the foglight connector. Cool.

wow this is interesting, i never knew there was a "clearance" issue.

does any one else have problems?

how does injen, k&n and all those companies do for clearance?
i've never heard of a problem.

im guessing if u just slide the intake a lil off(down) or whatever
and it's all good right?

AFAIK, it's only the AEM -- due to its design -- that has this potential problem.

On aa related note...although it may seem obvious, I forgot to mention to retighten the AF's hose clamp when done.
