2007 scion tc

Anyone know where I can get a cheap diagnostics on it? I checked the fuses, it's not that. So I'm assuming it's either the bulb or The wiring.

I have had problems I'm assuming was wiring. My passenger side window didn't work for like 2 years then started working again. And the backlight for my ac controls stopped working a while back but every now and then if I push on it or hit a bump it will come on. But I'm mainly worried about the third brake light so I can pass inspection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Take it to a dealership. They specialize in your car. I can't stress that enough, I have seen some really bad diag work from "aftermarket" shops.

 

i have a new oznium red third brake light for sale. LEDS all the way accross. not like your stock one. much nicer.

the lighting on the backlight for the hvac (ac controls) is a problem on the circuit board for the 07's.. it's a known issue. do a search and you'll find it. user engifineer was doing led swaps on it. drop him a PM he will be able to tell you more.

also.. are you the original owner of this car? or someone before you had it? just wondering if someone messed with the wiring if it's previously owned. the third brake light sounds like wiring that's loose.

 

Yes i'm the original owner. I've had it since august of 06 and it's never been in the shop besides routine maintenance. But it seems like the wiring is all effed up. Is this a common problem with 1st gen tC's?

 

Its probably just out u need a new one, I have a 06 mine went out a year ago got me a used one works good as new

 

3RD brake ligt is LED and does go out on occasion.....

 

Thanks everyone for their help. I looked at it again this morning and it worked. Something in the wiring must get jarred when I shut the tailgate. I passed my inspection and that's all I care about at the moment.

 

just be careful because mine went out and I got pulled over and I thought it was just the wiring so I messed with it and it worked but then it went out again and I got pulled over again. LOL so I got the oznium one for like 100 and it looks way better!!

 

looks like they go out on occasion. guess i got lucky so far. would be nice to get one that the entire strip lights up with leds!

to everyone else-- i heard reviews of the ozniums LED's going out after a couple months.. anyone have this happen??

 

I got the oznium tC third brake light in the first batch of them being made back in 07. it still works great, so unless their quality has gone down, there shouldn't be a problem.

As to the other wiring issues, i think only the 07 tCs had a problem with the HVAC going out. there might have been a tsb or something.

 

oznium tC third brake works great. never failed me yet.
