Default Trying to Remove my Tails

okay so I am about to remove my tail lights so that I can smoke them out with my VHT nite shades and I already ran into a problem.

Does the whole thing come off (the red circle) or just the inside of that little box (the white circle)?

Either way they are a _____ to get off and I dont want to break it so I want to make sure that I am trying to loosen the right part to get these bad boys off.

the best way I found to get them apart is slide a common screwdriver into the slot (towards the top of the white circle) while pulling the plug out. hope that helps

DON'T PULL HARD. If you depress the right tab it should pop right out with no force. Just use the smallest flathead screwdriver you can find.

yeah i got that part out and I almost got the whole light on but there is something holding it down in the lower left corner. Im thinking about just giving up and painting them with them still on the car.

Did you remove the 3 nuts and loosen the bumper?

Which light are you working on?

The right one (facing the rear of the car)?

There is a little hook that clips the light to the bumper. You need to pull the bumper and tail light away as a single unit, then manuever the hook out of the bumper.
