I was just curious but would i be in trouble with the law if i changed my mirrors to red turn signals and the headlights with red turn signals. I ahve a black cherry tC and i was wondering if i did it to match if it would look good and if i could get ticketed for it

Yes, they must be an amber or light amber color. No red, white, blue, green, purple...

B/c rear signals are the only ones that can be either red or amber depending on the manufacturing of the tail light. And the other reason you can get away with a lot is that there is way too much paperwork for just a simple traffic warning/violation. My brother in law is a cop. He told me that most of the time, yes all these things are illegal, but there's just too much work to do if they pull you over for something stupid like a light bulb. On the flip side, b/c it's a known legality issue, if you catch a cop on a bad day, they can see the red light and yank you just b/c they feel like it. And, they also have proboble cause to search your engine in that case. If they see modifications, no matter how small, they can ask/tell you to lift your hood for them to inspect anything else on your car.

It all depends on the area, cop and the cop's attitude.

forward facing turn singals and rear facing turn signals fall under different guidelines. it's ok to have rear flashing red turn signals because no one in front of yous ees them, and therefore can't mistake them as police strobes.

in california only emergency vehicles can have front flashing lights in red (and blue), so red front signals are illegal.

basic rule of thumb:
directions of color shown:
- amber to sides
- amber or white to front
- amber or red to rear

some vehicles i've seen have red turn signals in their mirrors.... but they are pointed back to the rear... not out to the sides.
(if you were wondering why they could have it)

My sidemarkers and mirror turn signals are both tinted red, however they light up amber becasue the bulbs underneath are stock.
