That's all on the outside of your tail light. It's the tail light clear coat that is chipping away. I could tell you what is causing that, but I don't think you want to hear it (might offend you). You could take it back to the dealership and get it replaced but it's not a defect with the lights.

Wait, tell me why you think is causing it? I won't get offended.

could just be light clear coats, my vrd headlights did that after about a year, its just the clearcoat chipping away. if they dont cover it which i can assume they would, u could always have them sanded down and re-coated not the easiest task but def not impossible

I am only speaking from seeing lots of these same incidents on other tail lights and headlights. The flaking is all coming from the outside...not the inside. How often do you clean your tail lights? All makes and models of cars are prone to this. Hazy, yellow, clear coat peeling. What causes this is not enough care for the plastic against the environment and the sun. Keep in mind that headlights and tail lights do have a UV resistant layer of clear coat on them...however it's very miniscule and cannot hold up well against the envirmonent (unlike the paint on a car). The only real way to prevent this is to take care of them from the start. Washing your car and tail lights is not enough. Use a wax to protect them as you would the paint. Treat every piece of your car as you would treat the paint.

If you were local I could fix it for you in 15 - 20 minutes.

I never waxed my taillights. I used to wax my stock hood. Since I got my CF hood, I haven't.

I love my car to pieces and trying to make it show worthy. Gotta be taking more care of my baby!!! THANK YOU

Wax the CF or it will start to get yellow, then fade, then chip like the tail lights.

We're not that far away, drive over and I'll detail it for you!

Don't use Turtle Wax or Meguiar's that won't do crap! Use 3M...the only way to go. Expensive stuff but VERY worth it. For those that don't know, 3M bought out Meguiar's about 2 months ago.

I don't think they would just let me have my old taillights with the new taillights, but yeah, if they let me, you could buy it off me
