Default VRD HID problem help :(

Hi guys,

I have a bit of a problem, i have hid's on my vrd fogs and today suddenly both of my hid will not go on.

I understand that they can mess up ballast etc, but is it not weird for both of them to suddenly go bad at the same time?

Is there a fuse i should check out if so which. I have my fogs wired so they are n with parking lights and parking lights still work.

Any help would be appreciated

Not sure for the fogs..check our owners manual since the vrd uses the stock harness...otherwise just get a test light and start poking around.

Ill do my best, i didnt get the car with onwers manual. Ive searched but couldnt find something solid to check fuses.

If anyone knows something that could cause this lemme know, again its very weird for both to zonk out.

p.s. sorry if im asking allot but i searched allot before asking. Could find a solution, except for checking with istruments like the other tc member said( which i dont know how to do) theres must be a explanantion

Well of both just suddenly go out like that it's mos likely either:

Ground, fuse, relay or something came unplugged or damaged on the power side.

hmmm checked ground they sem to be fine

going to a shop to see what it could be...thought maybe fried cables or something but they look fine.

the vrd wiring did come with a relay maybe its busted.
how do you tell a relay has died?

bah....i dunno anymore. I had a guy come over and tested the hids, they where fine.

I hear the switch clicking but when they tested the wire going to the ballast it wasnt getting any juice....any ideas? and can a rekay be busted and still switch?

it's labeled "FR FOG"

here's a 2005 owner's manual... location should be the same if not close by depending on what year your car is

i would advise you to use a relay harness for that HID setup, otherwise there is a possibility that fuse may blow again.

also note: never install a fuse that is rated higher than the one that is supposed to go there.

Hi me again,

I know you told me not to put a higher rated fuse, but the 15A keeps burning out after a while lets say a day max. Should i risk a 20A fuse or just keep trying 15A?
