I had washed my car recently and the day after I noticed what looked like water running down inside both headlights. So I went ahead and tried to clean the inside by taping a piece of paper to a clothes hanger to dry it. Now I noticed whatever it is inside is not water but some type of clear adhesive running down. So I went and tried to clean it with some alcohol but that only made it worse by creating a big smudge inside. I find it weird that this happend to both headlights and they are not retro. Has this happend to anyone else? Dealer said heck no on covering it under warranty. What I can use to clean the inside to remove the adhesive without opening the housing?

I have a 06 btw.

 

sorry to tell you man..but the only way to actually fix that issue is to bake your headlight and take them apart. that way you can clean it throughly and can identify where that stuff is coming from

 

It's easy to open them... You should go ahead and put halos in while you have them apart...

 

aha yea, trying cleaning it with an adhesive remover such as GooGone! you can find them at walmart for like $3. big bottle, but it comes in handy at times.
