Exclamation Weird hid issue

I have a mobile hid setup that is about 9months old. I am not sure if the issue is related to the hids or not. My problem is that when I turn my car off my headlights do not always turn off. They even stay on occasionally if I turn them off at the stalk. The tails do turn off though which makes me wonder if it could be an issue with the car's relay. How are the ballasts still able to pull power if the car is off? I installed the setup so long ago I do not remember if it even has a relay harness. Any ideas guys? I plan to figure it out once turkey break hits but don't have much time until then to tear it apart. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Well mine did this as well. i have a relay with my hid's to prevent them from burning up the harness.. My relay kept breaking or corroding. you need a new relay which is like 4 bucks at advance and you need to put some electra greese or whatever on the plugs. can someone think of the name please :D

I'm not sure if this is related to the auto off feature of the car, but if it doesn't turn off when you get out of the car, the open door sensor might be getting stuck. I know mine does and so I have to check to see if the open door light comes on.

See I'm pretty sure that I have a relay harness but I can't tell from looking because it's all tucked away. I am going to have to make it more accessible I guess.

If the power is hooked up to the battery then you have a relay harness, if it is not then you probably dont.

it is di-lithium grease,it is normally used in distributer caps to keep corrosion down and on spark plug wires for same reason, but I use it on most any exposed to the exterior precipitation parts like relays.

Di-electric grease should work too.

Well I cut the zip ties keeping it tucked away and sure enough the relay got really dirty and is acting up. I am going to replace it just for good measure. This time with Di-electric grease. Lets hope it fairs better than the last.
