Default wondering if your tc has this problem?

so ive been talking to alot of tc locals around here to see if they are having this issue!

well your wondering what is he talking about!!!!!

check your rear quarter panels about were the body line is look at it down the lenght of your car .
do you see any dents or i would say flexing it looks like

this seems to be on every tc i looked at modified or not . especially on lowered tc's

well what im trying to do is get this brought up to scion to be fixed or atleast be recognized as a actual defect or something with the actual structure or whatever you might say .
i have actually have had this repaired at my scion dealership for free because of enough complaints from fellow club goers and customers. but to no avail it came back.

if you have these same flexing dents or creases speak up to your local dealer or write , call scion!

you might help me to bring some awareness to there eyes!

thanks for reading!

you really wouldnt be able to see it with a camera unless you have a really nice camera.

its above the rear tires alittle more towards the front of the car!

you will know if you have them if you look down the length of the car

i have them on both sides of my car !

they are very faint but noticable like the car has flexed at that point .

if you have it on one side you most likely have it on the other!

yes vertical flexing is diff going on with our tc's ! go to your dealer and see what they say!

this is a vertical flex you are looking for!

the more people who step up the better for us to show the dealer hey thousands of tc's have this problem whats up.!

Heard about this before. I saw a thread where lots of people claimed to have the same thing, especially people with upgraded suspension and bars. I have both of the above, but I am not going to check for dents because I don't need another reason to be unhappy. I'm just going pretend I didn't see this thread and pretend my tC is fine.

i cant take a pic my car is dirty like all hell!

odds are you never noticed it cuz if you look at it like you would from the side you cant see anything out of the norm but if you look down the lenght you will see them

more noticable on darker color cars ! a buddy of mine has a rs1 and his is so bad its horrible he had his fixed twice at the dealer and it still comes back . but he is slammed like all hell. i dont think it matters just makes it worse!

mine is a sw so its hard to see when its dirty and wet!

Rod c may be on to something...........tighter suspension will flex a body and leave welts and such..............the body just cannot take it as the sheet metal is too thin to hold a clean surface..........look at the Gforce films of cars and the bodies on them is twisting...........

yes i can understand some flex on modded cars but bone stock no suspension mods at all .

that is a little fishy and i am concerned . if you want to deny the fact your car is flexing into a twizzler j/k than so be it.

just want to make this known .if it already was well a refresh doesnt hurt for the nubbies or people that had no clue about it.

your choice if you wanna do something about it!

i know what you're talking about, there are creases on both quarter panels above the body line . They're pretty hard to see but they've been there forever take a good look at new GM trucks and suv's and you'll see creases everywhere and you think we've got it bad.

Sometimes these creases are joints of panels.
I'm not sure if this is or not, but not all panels are one-piece.
ONe thing of note, if I remember correctly, one of the few knocks that (I think) Consumer Reports had on the tC was "body integrity" so this may be for real.
If you can't take a pic of it, could you PhotoShop it so we all know what we're talking about?

this is a real problem not a maybe but like i said its up to you to do something about it! i took mine and they fixed it but it has come back so....

almost gonna be impossible to take a pic of !

just check for yourself if your body line is straight and true than your good to go , but if you see and deflection in light or reflection than you no that you have the flex .

im gonna start calling it the flex of death ! j/k

I didn't say it wasn't a real problem - on the contrary.

But...how did they "fix" it?

Well, PDR is great, but yeah, if it happened for real, and they used PDR, it will just come back.
I'll look at mine tomorrow.

i have noticed this before also..i've considered repairing it myself but haven't yet had the time or money-it seems like maybe it's from body flex-and i have no suspension modifications
