It's only gonna be in the back of your mind if you see it in the first place. If anyone is thinking of checking their tCs, I recommend that they don't do it. If you look hard enough for imperfections then you are bound to find some.

so what would be the long-term repercussions if i just ignored it (if that's even what's wrong w/ mines)? i don't think about it unless i see the light hit it in a specific way.. otherwise it's just another dent added to my ever-increasing collection

My friend said why dont I fix it or just replace it with reinforcement. If anybody is thinking of replacing it dont waste your time. Itl cost almost if not over 1K for each side depending on who you go to. Its just one of those things we all have to live with. It honestly doesn't bother me I dont really care its only visible from an awkward angle.
If you want to get it grinded down and bondoed over its allot more cost effective but still a waste. Maybe 600 a side.

I noticed these "dents" in my tC shortly after I bought it (it's an 08, bought in July). Only I have been able to see them and I have to look at the car at the perfect angle in the perfect light. I chalked them up to where two body panels were welded together.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it, and honestly I'm not too worried about it.

I personally tried finding the mysterious ripple, but IMO it's like the lock nes monster.
I think I spotted it, but then again all the bobbing and weaving I did to try to get an eye on it my mind was probably fed up and I imagined it.
Rattles everywhere, crappy paint, clips holding it together... i've come to the conclusion of it is what it is... a Scion, not a Lamborghini. Still I <3 it.

i have this too. not sure if it's on both sides or now but i know i've seen them. at least i know what caused them now. if i get a chance, i'll snap a pic with my DSLR and maybe they'll show up lol
i have like 4 on each side where DanelNC06 has his and one on the body between midway of the hatch and rear passenger window. have like a wave effect going on all the way from under the middle of the rear window to the taillight BTW have hotchkis spring & camber kit, & TRD rear sway
