Default Xenon Light Bulbs for the tC

Hi Folks,

I want to change the factory fitted yellow lights to the white xenon lights. I found these on sale on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...QQcmdZViewItem
Are these ok? Actually are these good quality if anyone has used them? or suggest the good quality ones if you know.

Actually check this link as these are better and reliable

One naive question is that can these bulbs be directly replaced or it requires the xenon HID conversion kits on sale on ebay?

I got mixed information about xenon lights. So I want to know what is legal and what is not, what are the prereqs and what color temp ratings are the best and to be used?

what abt the GP thunder or the Eurodesign ones? Also what is the right type among the PIAA model for the tC? There are many there? I need white light. Blue is a bit disturbing. Which K rating produces pure white light? I understand the higher ratings of 8500 produce acutally blue light. Is the blue light irritating? And I need them for both the high (9006?) and low (9005?) beams? Which is the best combination?

I had Powerview Xenon Blues.

No problems.

I switched to Halo bulbs cause they were easier to maintain
and cheaper to replace if they ever go out.

If you stay around 5000K, 6000K you should get white light.
I say 'around' b/c it seems like each company has a slightly
different color for a particular K temp. rating. I suggest the 6000K.
I personally don't like the 8000K and up lights. Looks
cheap and wrong.
Don't know specs for a tc. But you should try to stay at or close
to the 55watt bulb, so as to minimize any risk of overheating and
melting your wires.

Eurodesign ones suck. Had them in my old car, couldn't see anything at night. Bad, bad, bad. Oh. and the one bulb burned out a week and a half after I put it in. Yeah, you get a warranty, but you still gotta pay s/h. Rip off for a bad product.

And I bought it off of eBay.

i have sylvania silverstars. they give that pure white light you're looking for with no other colors. some people had problems with them, but i never did, even in my old car. and i don't think you should have problems with them since they are an oem.

the scion tc uses 51watt lowbeams...they are 9006.....if you run 55 watts, although unlikely you run the chance of them melting your harness. My piece of advice to you...buy PIAA's that are for 51 watts or buy a real HID conversion kit

NOTE: SOME 9006 LIGHTS ARE NOT 55 WATTS AND YOU RUN THAT RISK, GET 9006 THAT ARE 51 WATTS
