Replace the faring bolts with 2" x 5/16 carriage bolts and use regular nuts in place of the wing nuts

Replace the rear rack bolts with 2.5" x 5/16 carriage bolts I was able to use the wing nuts. For maximum clearance position the wing nuts perpendicular to the car when fully tightened.

I now have about an inch and a half of clearance with the roof fully opened and no problems with it touching while it is opening.

I don't use the sunroof so I'm content with my set-up.

^ lovin it! Thanks man. I got a set of keys the day it arrived. I ended up getting a control key from my LBS and removing one of the lock cores then I hit every LBS and Yakima dealer until I found a two pack of cores with matching numbers (there's only like 10 different key cuts). I ended up putting the two new cores in the QR fork mounts.

i see exactly what you mean, looks good, if i had a bike, i'd do this mod to use the sunroof with my rack.
