that is the reason why adding it - the question is "how much will it mask it and will you like what it sounds like"

.........another week and 1/2 and we will have that answer.

Hey Zach/Zack?, did you notice any low end torque loss after installing it? Any gains at all? Im getting this one for sure but I was just curious. I unbolted my stock muffler for fun and no matter what I do I cant squeal my tires anymore even with power braking.

i didnt notice a loss in power at all, nor did i feel a big increase (butt dyno is broke). with out a aftermarket header, i cant feel a lerge increase. once i SC and put on the draxas header (once released)i know there will be a noticlable differance with the draxas exhaust.

your saying that you dont notice any power change w/ the exhaust? ...not even better responce due to the free-er flowing air? Do u have the stock spipe?

my car is stock performance wise beside the draxas exhaust. I am waiting for the s-pipe to ship. I currently have the stock s-pipe.

with my car not taking much air in, it doesnt need to force much out, so i dont feel a large increase. i am positive this will change once i add the draxas header, as well as go FI. their will be dyno numbers around the 28th, so stay tuned!

Im wondering if i want to change my header when I get my s/c --- if something goes wrong w/ my engine they are going to blame it on the header (eventhough it wouldnt be) -- but i sure that would be the case. They are going to say that because of the design specs ...blah blah blah..caused the change and made the engine fail out. I know im going to change the exhaust and spipe but deff leaning in the direction of not touching the header.

the header wont mess up your engine at all. the only it is doing is releasing more air flow, and releaving some backpressure.

as long as you have an antifouler on your spipe to ensure you dont get a CEL, you should be fine.

Keep in mind, the dealer has to have it IN WRITING why your engine malfunctioned, and why it was the parts fault (in this care an aftermarket header)

yea but cant they say that because of the different design in air flow its not making the engine perform to specs?

All depends on the nature of the problem. Lets say for instance, all of a sudden your ECU leans out the A/F ratio and causes the engine to start knocking blah blah blah to the point that something gets damaged. You have a aftermarket header. Now all the aftermarket headers I have seen have the A/F sensor tapped in a location where they are only reading the exhaust off 1 cylinder. Lets say that it just so happens that particular cylinder for some reason was running rich, lets say for some reason the injector for that cylinder was malfunctioning. Well, the computer at that point would think the entire engine is running rich, because stock, the A/F sensor is in a location where it can "see" exhaust from all cylinders. So your computer leans out the mixture to compensate for the 1 cylinder running rich, but all the others were running "normal". Now those other 3 cylinders are lean causing knock, the knock sensor picks that up you get a CEL and take it in, but the damage has been done.

In this ENTIRELY HYPOTHETICAL situation, yes the dealer can peg the damage caused on the header cause the factory A/F sensor was only reading exhaust off a single cylinder, compensating for that cylinder only, causing problems in the other cylinders that were running fine. Bam, no warranty coverage.

Again this is just a hypothetical situation.

i see what u are saying.... so there is "a .00001" chance on how this could happen... thanks for the example. Due to the slim chances I think its time to look into what header I wanna get.
