Default Are 05 and 06 ECU's the same?

I'm asking because im starting a project..

and that project involves having to downgrade my 06 ECU to an 05 ECU. Why? I'll explain later in a different thread.

I just need this quick question answered before I continue..

Thank you.

If I change ecu's, wouldnt the mileage of my car change? like.. i had 28k miles stored on my car.. and like 22k miles on the other car.. if i changed the ecu, would my car read 22k miles after the ecu install?

No your millage is stored in the gauge cluster(flash mem?)

but its not as easy as you think(the swap) there are "complications"... like the key cylinder, door locks, immobilizer system, keys etc...

no. it's stored on the cluster.

if your "project" involves something stupid and illegal.. i'd advise against it.

otherwise.. i really see no point in switching... there's no difference between the two.
