I was really looking forward to ZPI offering that 6sped tranny for the tC they were talking about. I heard it was just a GTS tranny with an adapter plate.

Because, I'm gonna be boosted in a few weeks just need to get up some funds for my AEM F/IC n my injectors. But, once I'm boosted I'm gonna be wishing I had another gear to atleast reach 140mph when racing, gonna suck to only be able to win til 127mph or be pulling back n hit speed cut(yea i know street racing is bad and dangerous, but thats the risk I choose to take, plus at night here in Mid TN the interstate are pretty dead so its usually just us racers at the given time we do decide to race).

 

prepare to get flamed because some lawyers here in SL will say that they don't care about you and your endangering the others and you should be off the street and do it on track blah blah blah

Yea, i realize that. I'm a good guy, if they knew me they would know I just like to have fun. Tracks not open yet. Probably opening soon. Most of my races will be there, but they are all 1/8 mile tracks.. Theres a good 1/4 mile an hour n half away..

But, flame away I know I'm doing something illegal but, Im as safe as i can be when Im doing it..

 

yeah risk you choose to take is fine for you, but the risk you take will get others at risk too.. so no on that.. 140, even 127 is too much on streets.. that to me is must use track.. Short pulls on a pretty dead highway might be fine to me though IMO.

I definitely want to see a 6 speed tranny for the tc though, that would be so nice if someone can make them.

 

yeah dude...its all fun and what not, and hurting yourself would not be bad....but when you accidentally hit that guy and his pregnant wife on the way to the hospital.....


Even if it is a 1/8 mile, keep it on the track

oh btw...i have a 500 hp 383 88 monte carlo, it only cost 5=$5000......how mcuh was your turbo kit?? plus install and tune???

i dont think you wanna be street racing cuz i id it about 2 months ago and i ended up in jail and my car impounded i got to spend the night in our city jail..... and man was it cold hahahahahaha

 

aright I understand why you wanna street race, but why in the hell would you wanna go 140?!?!?! Most street races wil shut down at about 100mph or so...good luck, dont kill anyone. Plus if you barely have money saved for your injectors and FI/C then how do you expect to pay for a $2000+ tranny swap? Just a thought

 

Cuhz Im paying bills and a built me a nice lil turbokit on the side... Soon at work I will get a raise and be able to save more money. I have money in the bank. But, I dont use that for my car emergency only..

And, yea maybe 140 is too much cuhz right now i never reach above maybe top of 4th gear..

your all right.. that is way too fast.. i would tell you the truth never go that fast. Cuhz goin 127mph is a rush enough. Not, to mention scary because, Im think what if shomething breaks, while traveling this fast instant death. Couple of my friends have been killed w/in the last year on bikes and Im not doin it as much. Just occasionally. So, dont flame to hard. Im still young and dumb.

Um. Anyway. We're most likely never going to see a 6 spd conversion "kit." If you really want 6 speeds, I'm sure some race shops can custom you an entire transmission but otherwise, it's most likely a no go. You can't just fab an adapter plate to fit the GTS transmission on there. That idea has been hashed and rehashed and then decided that it would not work.

 

Even if ZPI made a 6 speed manual transmission, whos got $$ to buy it? Plus youre planning to go F/I..... unless you like 1 wheel slipping all the time, you would want to get an LSD...... which cost more $$$.................... good luck.

 

Realistically 127 isnt that fast. For some reason to me I had my maxima up to about 138 (91, no speed limiter!). Now that was moving. My buddy had his bike up in like 170 or 180. He said it actually becomes a huge blur and you get hella tunnel vision. thankfullly he sold that bike though.

 

Yes you are right, I should look more into gettin the TRD lsd than a 6speed tranny. But the idea just seemed to good to me. I always here only flaw with tC is not having a 6speed. Which it should have had from the factory, along with vvtl-i and maybe 180hp or so.. But, my car is decently quick. Ive beat some type-s with novice drivers, and been beaten or dead even with a better type s driver(Wish I had videos to prove no one ever believes me except forthe racers n ppl coming out to watch the race).

 

Fastest i been on a bike is 130-140mph n tht was crazy. Never will I do that again its soo much different goin tht fast enclosed in a car compared to being in the wind..

 

you dont need to be that fast, after 115 it just becomes a ____ing contest there is so much drag at those speeds edging out on a guy just isnt worth it

 

I would just like a damn 6-speed so Im not doing 3500 rpms at 75 mph

yes, it's rather annoying, especially if I'm trying to cruise at that speed and have a convo w/ someone...... at that speed there is road noise and engine noise. The car was noisier than my mom's Corolla and comparable w/ my cousin's old xA.
