Default alteranate way to fix cel regards to headers

I have a backwoods solve for cel pop out instrument panel it is one screw and pull out odometer this takes 2 min pop out tabs and put ele. tape over cel light this works as well some will say oh cannot diagnosis car but if u got cel on does not make any difference I have tried on my car antifoul straight and L type and changed s-pipe but this here works. buy a programmable scanner if you hear something going on with your motor and save your self the trouble.... test your car every few months to see if a code comes up scanners at autozone 50.00 to 75.00 good investment. and it works if that cel annoys you that much.

That has to be the dumbest idea to "fix" a CEL ever.

or you buy a scan gauge so you can clear it or you put your factory header back on and stop the rasp honda bad name giving noise out the back of your car

Yea I defiantly wouldn't call that a CEL fix. That is just a way to ignore it.

^ Unless there's a chance the O2 sensor is damaged?

Has that been checked yet?

i just kept punching my gauge cluster until the CEL went out.

Additionally, the tach, speedometer and gas gauge doesn't work now... so this is a quick fix to disable your instrument cluster. Enjoy!

and when they hook your car up to the OBD2 scanner they will tell you to replace the bulb cause it is out since the CEL light isnt on, as well as you will be charged a lot if they find out you taped over it

I can understand (although it is stupid as all getout) how someone with the mindset of "just leave the issue and cover up the warning light" would do something like that. But if you were going to replace the O2 and fix the issue in a week, why on earth would you take the time and effort to put tape over the light? Does the little dim amber light really bother you that much ?

well seeing that i have an 08 my cluster is orange and the cel is amber so its a bright contrast...and well every second that it was staring at me made me paronoid...that and the fact that my mom moves my car every morning and just didnt want lip from her
