I love how Hondas (particularly the Type-S) sound with an intake.. nice and very aggressive. How does the tC sound? Can you hear the VVT-I engaging/disengaging like VTEC is on the Hondas?

VVTi IS always engaged, but there is a definite timing advancement at about 3800 rpm.

tC's sound great until you get a header.

is that true? it sounds like it. i remember when i had only the intake silencer remover and at around 3.5-4 k the motor produced a bassy growl from those rpms up. now i have the stock exhaust seperated from the pipe and its just drowns it out. i wanna change it back because i think something is squeaking down there.. probably the hangers.

Is it easy to remove the intake silencer box? It looks like the box is before the filter which means there will be a gaping hole in the intake pipe when you remove it though.

lol i think ur car wont start with it open like that. the whole point is to cap it. i think the purpose of this is to change the volume of that area, which changes the acoustics and how the sound waves bounce into each other, and i think the silencer box was made so that the sound waves cancel each other through destructive interference.

i have a bathtub cap thingamabob from jewel i think it was.

the VVT-i on the tC w/ intake will never sound like DOHC VTEC w/ intake on a Honda. When VTEC hits, the intake and exhaust valves lift a lot more and the time it stays lifted changes as well. It's like 2 different animals.
