Default Any Hope For tC?

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a Scion tC and was hoping that I could eventually make it a quick little car. I was wondering if it would be possible to get it to run low 14's to high 13's for the 1/4 mile? If so, how much money would it run me?

Thank you.

All you need is money and the answer turns into "Yes".

Would an engine swap be necessary?

no

do some research of how much HP it takes to run a 12-13 quarter mile, then search around for how to make that power and how much it costs.

an engine swap isn't necessary unless you don't tune your stuff right or run wayy too much boost and/or nitrous

bolt up a turbo kit and you could easily run 13's. do some work to the kit and you'll be running 12's.. build the engine and turn up the boost and you'll hit 11's..

Matt's right.

We at Dezod are almost done with our bolt on kit (within two weeks). ZPI and Scion Speed make kits as well. All three kits are capable of doing what you want.

would it be possible to run 13's on a daily driver without effecting the reilability?

yes. as long as you know what you're doing.

btw, truthfully, if you're asking i say don't bother til u learn alot more about how a car works and what's good for it or not.

you all still gotta remember, no matter how reliable toyotas are, it is still a camry engine, not a 2jz.

It's also a Rav4 engine and a Highlander engine, so what's your point?

The engine makes the car, the car doesn't make the engine.

Of course, it's no 2JZ but it doesn't mean it can't be made to perform.

The 2AZ has already astonished many performance tuners for it's strength and potential, more so than a lot of so-called "performance" engines.

there si something else you can do which would increase power and reliability and that is cryo treating. it doesn't cost much and it will make the engine better for boost

Engine swaps are for cheaters.

"Oh look. I put a Jaguar engine in my Honda. Check out how fast my Honda is now."

'Course it is. It's no longer a Honda.

I'm still trying to see what is special about a 1/4 mile

OR a tC

Don't get me wrong, I own one myself..
truth is, 1 350 would not = 2 tC's

Straight line racing if for those afflicted with attention deficit disorder.

Straight line racing is not a real race.
for the difference in price between a turbo tC and a STi i could make it outhandle all 3 of them (in their stock form)

besides, why would you want a stock 350z/EVO/STi?

oh yea, it also has the factory warranty that wouldn't be voided.

I threw in the STi and Evo for comparison shoppers...

Should have thrown in the Acura and the SRT4

Again, driving in a straight line for a few seconds is not that impressive
