Bad gas mileage.. aahhhh! Anyone else??
i hooked my scan tool up today and my long-term fuel trim was at -19%. which means something was causing it run fairly rich and it had to subtract to get back down to stochiometric. i may try resetting my PCM and driving gently. i unhooked my battery to clean my MAF but i doubt i left it unhooked long enough to reset the computer.
I love how people buy a car.. it performs exactly as advertised and then they whine about it... if it had taller gears you would complain that it didnt accelerate fast enough
I love the gearing. I like being able to pass normally in 5th gear.
The only thing that makes me have issue at all with gearing is on some autox courses, but that is far and few between and that is hardly normal driving

careful not to snap that rear end around them corners big guy
Ummm were you attempting to get at me somehow??
Who cares what I do with my car? Its called autosports.. and millions of us do it. You know.. hobbies.. fun.... stuff that 99% of cars arent made for but plenty of us do....... the difference is that I dont start crying about how my tC doesnt get 40 mpg while I am autoxing it. I also dont make up super exaggerated crap to make my whining sound more relevant
I drive 16.5 miles to & from work each day (so, 33 roundtrip). I clock my fuel mileage on every fill up. I drive like I'm trying to get where I'm going (not another zombie drone that just clogs traffic), but I try to set the cruise when I'm on the highway at 72mph. On my fill-up before work this morning I poured in 11.384 gallons, and drove 304miles. I have 205/55/16 steel wheels & firestone winterforce tires that aren't helping my mileage any, but are definitely necessary living in upstate NY. So that's 26.7mpg with snow tires/steel wheels, and the average temperature in the 20's to 40's. I'm pretty happy with that. I was getting slightly higher mileage with the 18's & summer tires that came with the 5.0 TRD package though.
Sub-par Mileage or not, I love my car and wouldn't drive anything else.

I am also getting BAD MPG's lately...
last couples months its been getting bad..
Before on a Half a tank I was able to get 190-200miles going 75MPH average...
Now getting 160-170 for a half tank...WTF!
I gas up at the 3/4 mark I can usually get 240miles before gasing up!

no, that's a different cleaner for the throttle body. the MAF cleaner is more of an electronic contact cleaner, safe for plastic and your MAF. Just easier to spend the $3-4 for the MAF cleaner than to melt the plastic on your MAF. CRC is the brand that I like, i think it's one of the few out there.
