We also dont know it hydrolocked... and unless his brother completely tore down the motor he really doesnt even know if he has a bent rod yet. |
but if it is, he should buy a bike and rebuild the internals with some mean stuff and ride it out and when he gets it back together make it either a mean low compression turbo motor, or go all out like 15-1 compression and make the tC sound like a GSXR!!!! ^sarcasm on the 15-1 comp.....lol

Update!!! Good news!!!! Water was in the intake...... took the spark plugs out, dried everything up, took oil out and let the car sit overnight. Replaced the spark plugs and oil and cranked it. it rolled over and started. Water spit out of the exhaust. I did not want to run it long so I turned it off and brought it back to my mechanic. He is going to look at it tonight and hopefully everything will be OK.
It ran a little ruff but at least it started..... I will keep you updated! |
so far, not that bad

GOOD DEAL! You may also want to check out the cats while its in the shop. I had a converter get damaged from coolant after cracking a head once. Also someone else driving the vehicle. Hope it all works out.

I had something similar happen to one of my other cars and I thought I damaged the motor as well. It turned out that water got into the spark plug wires and was sending the spark to ground through the water instead of through the plug. I just got new plugs and wires, dried everything out and was good to go. You might want to keep an eye on your MAF sensor as well as they can corrode from water causing them to malfunction. Hopefully everything else is ok. Good luck.

update for today????

Well, the motor is shot.... We are pulling it this weekend..... probably going to buy a new one and try to build this one up...... it is definetely hydrolocked... the engine would not even turn over. Starter just kept winding......
Whatever you do don't let your brother drive your scion through monsoons in Dallas with a CAI!!!!! :silly: Looks like this car will be down for a couple of months..... right at carshow season too..... sucks..... Well one good thing will come out of this......300+ HP NA motor.......stay tuned!!!!!!! |
