all i have to say is learn how to drive...every week it seams like someone is blowin there motor or clutch or something..i have had my tc since they first came out back in dec 04 its an 05 most of you know what i have done to my tc seen my dyno videos and me racen hard core..i have had NO problems at all...I JUST DONT GET IT...
i have raced it at the track seriously about 10 times last year for tuning and stuff trying new things yuopu know how hard it is racen at the track on your cars..,street raced a miliion times and i just drive hard.. i get the REQUIRED MAINTANCE done and i have had no problems....
but enough of me...
i just think people dont now how to shift an drive there cars...IMO
but good luck and i am ancsious to see wut happens...

none the less i would give this more to driver error then mechanical failer..
and srry but 90% of the dealers out their have the worst mechanics and service out their.. i found that out after my first free and only oil change by the dealer.. when i decided to do it on my own and needed a breaker bar to get the oil drain plug out and the oil filter was put on tighter then my own suspension parts..

i have to disagree with you. when you take your vehicle to a dealer the techs are not going to change the oil. the idiot off the street making 6.00$ an hr is going to change your oil. i'm a certified factory trained mercedes-benz tech and i don't mess with oil changes etc..

well update. i got my car back today from the dealer. they changed out the block a new oil pumo and a new oil pan and all the other thing that go wit it. all i had to do is pay for a new o2 sensor that went bad. and not fromt the headers because i bought a new o2 for the header because i couldnt get the o2 from the stock off. so i paid 200 dollar for a new motor but everythin else was under warranty so im glad of that.
hmm...so after reading this im not so sure i really know what engine knocking is...my car sometimes gets a "lumpy" feel (i guess you could call it that) at idle, is that essentially engine knocking? cause this has got me worried, it happens from time to time, but i never really thought it was an issue, i can be in neutral or just comming off the clutch and ill feel a lumpy sensation come from the engine/drivetrain, its been goin on for a while but its fine once i get past the 1k mark, and like i said it doesnt happen all the time just everyonce in a while...so yea should i be worried that what happened to Eastwick is gonna happen to me?

knocking would be like if you engine was pre-igniting the air and fuel because the timing was off.
Knocking sounds like a steel hammer hitting a red brick - kind of a cracking hollow sound and usually it happens rapidly like a lot of hammers hitting a lot of bricks something like a big diesel pickup truck idling. Your engine has sensors that readjust the timing so that is only happens a few times before it corrects the timing but you could also hear some rod knock if you lug the engine at a low rpm with a lot of throttle because the oil pressure can be pretty low at 500 rpm which is why lugging the engine can be bad for it.
There are different types of "knocks"
One is caused by pre-ignition ("spark knock"). This is what is detected by a knock sensor and corrected for (if possible) with timing.
A rod knock is actually a rod knocking on the crank due to a worn bearing and/or crank. This will be a metallic knocking, much like a hammer on metal. It will start as a very faint knock. It will knock at engine speed and will become a double knock as it gets worse.
A worn wrist pin will also cause a tapping sound.
A knock on the top end will usually be on the cam and will knock at 1/2 engine speed
There is also piston slap, which occurs when the skirt collapses on a piston. This will have a more random sound since the piston is basically wobbling as it moves up and down in the bore.
When you lug an engine and it knocks, that is not a rod knocking (unless you have excessive engine wear), it is spark knock. Same condition that occurs if you use too low of an octane rating for the application.
So there are a lot of different types of knocks, and a million more noises that can resemble a knock

no, there is nothing wrong with your engine, just your technique. what you are experiencing is stalling. you are letting the clutch in without giving it enough gas, so the engine is struggling to get the car moving when it is at less than 1000 rpms. you need to give it more gas before you let the clutch in, that is why everything seems fine above 1000 rpms, the engine is no longer struggling.

i know how to drive stick, what im saying is it happens even in neutral, i appreciate your concern i know how to drive stick..to me it seems like tuning problems but that doesnt really make sense b/c we're electonically tuned (hence our ECU's) but then again, why would our cars rev up so high when cold? the engine managment system is supposed to compensate for the change in temperature (yes i know it still needs to warm up) but i dunno, that last staatement is debatable, however as i said before its definitely not the "technique" issue
