Default Cable Throttle Body

Just curious if anyone has gone to a cable throttle body on the tc. If so, which throttle body and pedal assembly did you find to work well? I have no problem doing the legwork on this myself, but just wanted to see if someones already done it first and found a good working setup. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

FYI my current idea is a pedal/throttle linkage from a gen 1xb (Ive found a couple at local junkyards I could go look at) than maybe an aftermarket 70mm throttle body designed for a Honda (they use a pretty easy-to-machine-for 4 bolt pattern similar to ours. Ill probably stick with the stock intake manifold and just make an adapter plate.

Not sure what good that would do or what you're trying to accomplish, but someone threw an rx-8 TB onto the tc with minimal wire splicing and that is a larger TB from the RX-8... search on here

Has nothing to do with sizing. Simply trying to go to a cable throttle body when I wire up the MegaSquirt 3x. As far as I know, theres no way to use it with an electronic throttle body. Ive thought about tricking the ECU into still controlling the throttle, but id perfer not to, and this really shouldnt be that difficult (on the scale of things Ive done to this car) haha. Just wanted to see if anyone had done it, and if so which throttle body and pedal they used.

silvrtc300 did one. He used Chris Rado's intake manifold/ cable TB off of the Vs.1 T/A though. Probably doesn't help though, sorry...

**correction the intake manifold was from the T/A car, but on post #112 he mentions that he fabbed it out for a 70mm cable Honda BBK throttle body.

There are a small hand full who converted to cable. I used a 75mm BBK Honda throttle body, with a intake manifold from World. With a modified stock pedal base infused with a RAV4 cable and arm of the rav4 arm. a few adjustments is definately need to make it work just right. but it was the simplest way.

Its not all that complicating. The older rav4 with the 2.4 were cable driven.. for it's a good base to start from. I wasn't sure if the throttle body would work so i didn't even bother with it. I was upgrading to a honda BBK so I chose the route I did. Let me know how yours go.

It is the MS3 whether its the X or not is a good question, but it is the main box, and a secondary control unit with it and harnesses. I'll look into it more for u..

Yeah the X is just a daughterboard, f it came with it, it should have an additional large connector that looks like an oldschool parralel printer port
