take it to auto zone, have them read the code.

they do it for free.

possible the fouler trick fouled you? try re-installing or reconnecting it, reset the battery and then see what happens. hope this helps.

are you under warranty? my gf's tC had the CEL problem a week after she bought it (incidently after the dealer installed the scion security sys.)

if so, go to the dealer, there's probably a TSB neccesity, if not, definately go to autozone and borrow a obdII checker/or they'll do it free either way.

Try close the gas cap until you hear click sound few times. I'm not sure what's the problem but my tC sometimes throw a CEL especially after I put gas and didn't close the cap properly.

If the anti-fouler doesn't work then an electronic O2 simulator might be the only way to go.

The same thing happened to me, and only a day after installation. I seriously think the O2 simulator is the only way to go about permanently resolving this problem. I'll call Pep Boys today and see if the ones they sell are all universal, if so I'll pick one up this weekend and slap it on there.

Even when I know what's causing the CEL on my display, I still get very nervous driving it. Plus the car doesn't seem to pull at all anymore while the CEL is on, which I think is some form of a safety mechanism.

Did you install the anti-fouler on the correct sensor?

Ok... if we installed the non-fouler on the wrong sensor, then the car would barely run at all. The first sensor is directly responsible for controlling the air/fuel mixture ratio, so altering that sensor in that manner would be just plain stupid.

So, for the last time, we are talking about the SECOND O2 SENSOR NON-FOULER TRICK NOT WORKING.

Hey my friends Altima is having a CEL prob with his header. I dont have a 1/2" drill bit, nor a drill that can turn one...can someone make me an antifouler set up. I am willing to pay for it. I think the guy at the parts store told me it was like 3 bucks for parts, so I figure 10bucks for 20mins of labor and like 6 - 8 bucks for shipping. Anyone willing to do it for me, send me a pm or email me bladej@erau.edu. Thanx

I'm amazed no one around here has ever heard of MIL elimanators. They're basically resistors that you splice into the wiring for your downstream O2 sensor that basically tricks the computer think the cat is working perfectly. Do a google on them. Mustangs are the most common application but you can find universal ones that will work on any OBD II car.

Don't think so. My roomie has a Camaro SS that had the same problem when he put new headers and exhaust on his ride. Except he had to buy two simulators, for the dual exhaust.
