Hey guys. As the title says, CEL issue.
After installing my tenzo R intake, (SRI), I have been having issues
with the CEL light comin on every 100~150 miles later.
I have to disconnect the battery everytime and this has happened
more than 2 times.
I've heard that I should get a checkup like in autozone, etc.,
question is.... if my MAF sensor got screwed up, how can i fix it.
Do i need to replace it? Is it possible to fix? Cost?
man..i hate reconnecting my battery every single time!
AND i need to take it to maintenance soon so i have to disconnect it agian and the same process blah blah blah. HOpe you guys can really help me out.
In a tight spot and need some good advice from the tc owners. Thanks!

First: Are you sure you got an intake for the correct year? There are some differences - mostly with the MAF itself.
You could pick up some MAF cleaner at Autozone or something and try that. Just make sure to spray it good - let it dry for a few minutes and put it back in. Disconnect your battery again and then let it idle for about 10-15 minutes.

if the MAF is messed up, you'll need to replace it..
otherwise... really, clearing out the CEL by disconnecting the battery.. is not only a bad idea... it doesn't do anything to help you at all solve your problem.
best thing you can do is find out what is causing the CEL (read the actual code...) and then determine what to do from there..
double check your work... cause obviously you had these issues after you installed the intake, yah?

^^ yep... if the MAF is damaged then replacing it is the only way... but could be cheaper if you go to salvage yard where they have new cars...05-06 are the same sensor. 07+ are different. It is possible for the extra airflow to trip the cel..but not usually. The most common way to trip the CEL is by installing an aftermarket header. Places like Autozone have OBDII readers to check the code to see what is tripping. then go from there.

ok..something weird but good happend.
after putting in gas from 777, (a place near my house), the light just turned off haha
so it seems like something has to do with the gas cap? I read something about that but thought it didn't apply to my situation. anyways, thx for the help guys~
