also, you have a 2008 tC, how did you blow your clutch already? you don't have enough power to do that looking at your profile, either you've been doing something you shouldn't be doing with your car, or you just fail at driving stick.

Unless you are boosted there is no reason for a performance clutch on this car. As drax is saying the clutch should not be going on you.

Also, when you say it is not going into gear, that does not necesarilly mean the clutch is out. If the clutch was completely toasted, it would still be easy to put into gear since a burnt clutch engages less, not more. And with a burned clutch pressing the pedal down still disengages the clutch.

So what happens when you try to put it in gear? Does it grind? If so that shows that the clutch is not disengaging like it should (clutch cylinder, linkage, etc could be at fault). Does the shifter just not move into gear? If so, that could be anything from linkage to shifter assembly to tranny issues. IF this is the case it probably wont go into gear even with the car turned off.

well, i bought mine with the intent of turbocharging my car, so if you don't plan on doing that, then you don't need a stage 3 clutch, just get a competition clutch stage 1 or 2 from dezod or whatever stage you need if you know your approximate WHP goals.

also, it is a good time to add a few little knick knacks like a stainless steel clutchline, and a light weight flywheel.

engifineer. either way i still have to replace a clutch! so why purchase a oem clutch? i should just purchase a performance clutch and get it out the way rite? and i will be going turbo most likely end of this year

yeah, i taught my ex-gf how to drive stick on my car before i put in a new clutch, flywheel, and LSD, cuz i figured any damage she could do would be undone by all those anyway.

when she wanted to learn more after that, i taught her on my brothers old isuzu rodeo sport, which is what i learned on.

I dont think you read my whole post. If you cant get the car into gear, that does not mean your clutch is the problem.

If the clutch is burning, then yes it needs replacing.. then you can still figure out why you cant get your car into gear.

well, since there hasn't been anything done to your car that could caused this problem, why not just take it to a dealership?

your in gaithersburg, take it to fitzgerald toyota service, they're good people over there.

Are you saying that the shifter doesnt click into gear? (that is what dont go in at all would mean).

Or are you saying that the shifter will click into gear, but when you release the clutch the car does not move? That would (most times) mean your tranny goes into gear just fine, but the clutch is not engaging.

Those are two different issues.
