Are you saying that the shifter doesnt click into gear? (that is what dont go in at all would mean).

Or are you saying that the shifter will click into gear, but when you release the clutch the car does not move? Those are two different issues.
i put my clutch in and i cant put it in gears at all they dont click at all

If you smell your clutch normally then it may be going, but if you physically cannot get the car into gear, that is a different story.

Try putting the car into a gear with it turned off. Does it click into gear then? If not I would first be looking at the shift assembly, cables, etc first and hope the issue is there (external to the tranny).

If you can get it into gear with the car turned off, push in the clutch and start the car (with it still in gear) and see what happens. If the car tries to move at all (do this away from other cars, walls, etc just in case it does.. and keep the ebrake engaged) then your clutch is not disengaging fully. In that case it could be a hydraulic issue, which you should feel in the pedal, or other mechanical issues.

There would still be a chance that the clutch is more than just burned and is not fully engaged or disengaged.. but you need to check those other items before you just decide you need a clutch.

engifineer. the gear goes in when its turned off. i did that. i put it in 1st gear. turned on the car. then drove. and i hear a grinding noise. and then thers no way from switching gears when being on 1st gear. so after hearing the grinding i decided to call the tow. it feels like the clutch is not grabbing. and thanks for responding dude. really appreciate it

That doesnt sound too good as far as your tranny is concerned. So just driving in first produces a grinding noise?

To add to Engifineer's guru skills:

Does it grind when you shift it into a gear? Or only after you're done shifting and are trying to drive off?

I wonder if you can double clutch and shift. Get driving into first, push in the clutch, pull it into neutral, let the clutch out, press it back in and shift to second. If that works better, it may point to a destroyed synchro. However, it would have to be in pretty bad shape if it is making the noise you mention and wont shift at all.. even with trashed synchros you should still be able to eventually shift.

If you get the car going and really drop the pedal, does the rpm increase quickly without the car acclerating? If so then the clutch is slipping as well.. this is best tested in a higher gear, but it doesnt sound like you can get into a higher gear while driving.

There could be a case where the clutch is not disengaging, meaning you would have a very hard time shifting. If the clutch is actually broken, then it could be causing alot of noise as well. Most times I would expect that to be noisy just sitting there idling as well though.

I think it definitely needs to be looked at in person to diagnose any further though.

dude, i'm serious, go to fitzgerald toyota service, they're good people, talk to mr. steve gooche, or gil briggs, the service manager.

there is absolutely no way the mods that you've done to your car could have caused those problems.

aside from your short throw shifter, what have you done to your car having anything to do with your transmission? if the answer is nothing, then fitzgerald and you both know that there is nothing there to say that you caused this damage to your transmission.

Yeah, I would let it sit until someone can look at it in person. At this point you dont want to cause any more damage by trying to drive it really. It is always hard to diagnose over the net based off descriptions.
