learn how to shift better.

It sounds like you are mis-shifting since you are "slamming" it into gear.

Are you running MT-90? A lot of people have either had it lessen or completely disappear when using MT-90 in their transmissions.

How many miles on your car?
How many miles on your clutch?

30K is way to soon for a clutch to wear out, unless you are driving it like it's stolen

Check your tranny fluid level and make sure everything is working properly. This, and the reverse issue, could be a sign of synchros in the tranny getting weaker.

sounds like you are either popping the clutch, and not getting through the gate all the way before letting the clutch out......don't think there would be a clutch problem, especially with your limited power mods.....do you have a short shifter? i know some companies have had issues from 1 to 2.....for the reverse problem, NEVER force the shifter through the gate if the syncros are not letting it in.....usually if i cant get in reverse, i temp shift into 1st, and then go to reverse, usually does the trick....this tranny and clutch is pretty damn leniant on driving, and never have heard anyone have problems with 2nd gear unless you have a short shifter.....just sounds like you need to practice shifting....

I am personally aware of this problem and I do believe that you know how to shift just fine. What you are experiencing sounds a lot like (worn motor mounts). When you are shifting into second there is a lot of engine movement and with engine movement nobody should expect smooth shifting, especially on a Tc.

pm me if you have some questions,
I've got a few things I am planning to do about that.
