Clutch Life????
So I was talking today to another tC owner in my company and he is having a similar issue. Seems his clutch felt overly-light after only a few thousand miles and is in need of replacement after only 18K. My tC now has 5100 miles on it and the clutch has an excessively light pedal feel. I am concerned about its expected lifespan. Can anyone and everyone offer some input on clutch life?? Is it worth replacing with the TRD performance clutch? Another company?

Sounds like he wasn't driving the car correctly.. The clutch should not wear that fast.. I have 21k miles on mine with alot of runs at the track and it feels really close to it did the first day I got it.
I agree with DouBLeJ16; I've got 25k on my clutch and its perfect.
Have you ever driven with the guy? Is this his first standard transmission?
I've heard of a clutches going bad fast, but they were mostly on jacked up truck rigs from people standing on the clutch.
Honestly, unless you go with some type of forced induction -generally turbocharging- you won't need to replace the clutch within the near future.
Yours clutch has plenty of life left in it. . . that is, unless you let the guy you work with drive your car!

Well, i have about 24 k miles on the tC and have about 25 trips to the track. feels like the day i bought it. Scionlifer Neothin lives by me and his clutch feels very loose and he only has about 10 k, but i have no idea why that is. i have an 05, and his an 06.
I dragged the car, and hit the dyno quite often on the stock clutch. It held the entire time, until it made so much torque it couldn't hold the power. But it should hold for over 40k miles if you drive it properly.

I was suprised when I first test drove the tC. The clutch is very light and engages very easily. I only have 16k miles on mine and many track runs and it feels just the same as when I got the car. From what ive read from those with 30k+ miles in the tC is the clutch will last for awhile with proper driving. I have ragged hard on it many of times and still no problems.
