How much real world AKA G-tech gains are you seeing with your setup? (if you exaggerate your numbers their no better than false dynos.)

What type of piping did you use from bumper to air box? What piping from air box to throttle body?

I've already ordered the injen...so I hope your just being pessimistic. Still have'nt ordered a G-tech yet maybe next payday.
I bought the K&N for durability, not for gains. I expect no magic from it.

My best effort, on the little hidden pieces of street I can find, is a 9.99 1/8th mile, and a 7.46 0-60 time. As you may (or may not) know, the GTech shows "real world" HP and torque numbers, so those are tough to compare against anyone else's numbers. Regardless of any gains, the GTech has proven conclusively that I don't launch very well.

The piping from bumper to airbox is 3" I.D. reinforced HVAC hose, like what one would use for A/C line in an RV or similar. About $10 for a big piece. The pipe from airbox to TB is Spectre's "Poweradder" modular intake sections. About $60 for all the necessary pieces.

The biggest change was the reduction (and speed in reduction) of IATs. Even after 10-15 minutes of idling, IAT will return to within 5ş of ambient within only a minute or so of driving. Pre-GFI, IAT would climb as high as 140ş, and take as long as 10 minutes to cool down.

Thanks for reply Doc. If I had seen this alittle sooner I probably would've tried the ram air setup. My injen is already in the area tho UPS driver missed me tonight. As for injen cost I have to agree with you. As many intakes as injen is selling the price should be going down. However the price has been going up- too many chumps willin to pay-like me.

^^wonder if you can still make some kind of airbox around the injen filter and run that hose from the bumper opening to the injen filter... you'll still have nice flow through the injen and be getting some nice cool air from outside the engine bay...
