do those chips you see on ebay really work and give 20hp for only $20-30 or is it all BS.

it's not even a "chip" it's a resistor that 'tricks' your MAF into thinking that the air in the intake is high density = cold air -- makes the injectors spew fuel

Actually, it tricks you IAT into thinking that the air is colder and therefore more dense. Your MAF measures the volume of air that passes through your intake.

oh yea, all that is true.. the chip does work but that is what it does, thus making it harmful to your engine. dirties up your fuel injectors...


put one in your scion tc and after 2months or next 2 oil changes, your technician will recommend you to do a COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING ($50) when he does an inspection (the chips are serious)... tho your car will pull harder then before and a much better throttle response...


and whats worst is having a short ram intake and aftermarket header... all that extra EXTRA heat sucked up and the IAT think its cold air, the short ram is NOT performing at its best. The heat is robbing too much power....

A temp. sensor is built into the MAF on the 2AZ.
