Default custom intake, anyone use this piece for the sensor mount?

http://www.martelbrothers.com/catalo...t-p-16071.html

well, they have this part or close to it for a toyota and i was curious if i can use it to build my own short ram for my tC.. why not just buy one? well, i have the SC and it needs to be custom.. but i made my own once and it threw a code.. people on here said it was due to the wrong size pipe where the sensor is located, but this pipe i listed isnt that size but at least it would mount correct in there as there is a adapter that will work. anyone try this?

2.5" pipe is what you want around the sensor area.

A 3" maf area has shown to go a little on the leaner side. It has been researched.

Dezod did a comparison from a 3" MAF pipe to a 2.5" MAF pipe. The way the tC MAF reads the air flow in a larger pipe; it creates a leaner scenario. The 2.5" MAF pipe creates a far richer scenario (i.e.-1-2 AFR points richer).

Read the ECU/Fuel buyers guide stickied in the F/I section. Lots of good info.

I don’t understand why people prefer metal, metal is a much better conductor of heat which in this case is bad. You don't want the intake to heatsoak so plastic although not as durable and "the cool thing to do", is a better choice. I have spectre parts in my intake and I can tell you it's actually possible to touch the intake after driving (unlike normal cai or sri which would burn you).
