You're welcome.

Why did the mounting part flange of the header get scuffed?

Do you need to put the heat shield back on with the DC header? Or are you keeping it how it looks in the last pic?

It wasn't scuffed. The ceramic coating was running (like paint run) so he was sanding the paint flush to avoid any leaks. It worked well...no probs. Great product nonetheless!

You can't put the shield on because it only mounts to the stock exhaust manifold. It's ugly anyway..

When installed my TRD exhaust, I had to connect it to that same black pipe.
Well ours isnt black. Its more of a stainless color. I was under the car today since it was getting the oil changed.

tChick, glade to hear the install was nice and clean. Man ohh man does it look sexy!!!! So there isnt much difference in exhaust tone???

Im getting this header soon. Creative Compacts has it for $299, free shipping for holiday. :D

I was wondering why the installer wasn't wearing any latex gloves during the install? I was under the impression that without gloves on during the install, you'd have nice little finger prints, where ever you touched the header. Somthing to do with the oil residue on your fingers, and the heat from the header???

I could be way off...just somthing I kinda re-call back in the day when I was first into the import scene.

Btw: Great Pics!

I think those are stainless headers only. I think it looks great after the oils have burnt onto the header.

I have a stock exhaust and I still can hear a difference in the tone. Nothing louder, but much deeper than it was. I haven't heard it from the outside but I can hear it well from the inside. I'm sure it'll make any exhaust sound better, if not a lot different....

He didn't really need latex gloves since it wasn't that messy of a job. But I can see where you are coming from. The only gloves he used were to take off the heat shield when he first started.

I think i'm liking the headers more and more with time. ;)

I guess so! ;) I just orderd a K&N intake. I know I should be more patient and wait for the AEM but I had already tried that. I hate hearing that's available on a website but it's really not or that it's coming in a week and it's not and back and forth..blah blah blah. I have no problem with K&N and i'm planning on getting an SC for sure (like everyone else) if not turbo...so it will only be temporary. I just like having fun for now :D

And as for TRD, I might as well get that one because i'm sure that it'll sound just right with the headers & intake together. I really don't want to drive around with a car that shouts "Hey race me!" or "Hey look! She's driving her boyfriends car! Aww, why would her boyfriend let her do that?!"....nm off topic!

Hey tChick...don't get the TRD exhaust yet. i just installed the headers today and took it for a spin arround the block. The sound might have been over a 100db and sounded kinda "ricey". Maybe it hasn't broken in yet or the exhaust might not be use to extra amount of fumes comming out.

I'm gonna drive it arround and do some x-mas shopping.......I'll try to post a sound clip tonight when I get back. Hopefully it will sound better or I might get rid of the headers and/or get a different exhaust.

You are absoulety right about the pipe. I did my install back in July and I guess I had a memory laspe. The funny thing is DC's exhaust system is suppose to be all stainless steel with the piping. I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes out.

Damn, thats what I didnt want. PLEASE get a sound clip. I mean, believe it or not I think the TRD is pretty loud. Nothing compaired to me Mx6 but its loud.

I bet it gets buzzy in the 3500-4000rpm range right??? With just the TRD exhaust I think it sounds good in those rpms but it is rather raspish.

Hows the power difference though with your combo mods???

About the exhaust. Believe it or not from the S-bend back its a pretty clean flowing stock exhaust system. Of course better flow could be made by taking out the resonator and 2nd cat. The S-bend is one nasty pipe, I wonder if Weapon-R will have just the S-bend for sale???
Swapping out that bend IMO could be an easy 1-3hp.

If you thought the TRD was raspish at 3K-4K......HOLLY **** is this loud (in a bad raspish way IMHO). Honestly I only drove it for 5 mins after the install, so maybe I'm too quick to judge.

I had the TRD exhaust since the first week I had the tC so I can't comment if it added any power. The CAI is a must get. You'll feel it right off the bat. I'll post tonight and describe how it is with the headers.

Oh Oh...too loud, eh? I guess some people are into that kinda thing, but it looks like none of us are. I always thought that the TRD might be the quietest of all my choices but with the headers, I might have a dilemma. It doesn't mean i'll take 'em off though! ;) I definetly don't want a loud exhaust, do DC Sports is probably out of the question....?

BTW, how was your install? But yeah, let us know how it is after it breaks in a little.

is the dc sports a twin canister? cause those are supposed to be pretty quiet. or you could go to a custom place, and just have them put in a resonator.

I ment hows the powe difference with the header, intake and TRD exhaust. Did the header make a big difference when its paired with the intake???

If you thought the TRD was raspish at 3K-4K......HOLLY **** is this loud (in a bad raspish way IMHO). Honestly I only drove it for 5 mins after the install, so maybe I'm too quick to judge.
So its really that loud??? Is it loud on the inside of the car??? With windows up and everything......
Damn!!!!! I wanted to install the header and not have my mom know. :D
Please get a vid. If you could rev the ____ out of the car. Most people do low rpm revs and that doesnt do anything. I want to hear the header/TRD as the car is under load.

I know the TRD exhaust doesnt do anything, its an axle-back. It may save weight....
Our car was ordered with the TRD, I dont even know what the stock exhaust sounds like. haha

The DC has a resonator and a after the axle muffler. Its pretty much like the stock exhaust system. Just less restrictive and bigger pipes too. Im sure the DC has a nice tone. DC seems to be pretty quiet. Although most cars with DC and paired with a header they do get som rasp.

Hehe, me again.

Did the CEL come on?? Somone on ClubScion got the CEL after the header was installed. Also did you reset your ECU after the header install???
