I agree w/ you, i've have a friend of mine hydro lock his motor w/ a injen cai on his vw. Just to let you know it wasnt pretty, but if you get a bypass valve for water then your cool. Its design to releave some of the water that gets sucked in but only up to a certain amount.

he must have been driving his car through rivers for that to happen. Hydrolock doesnt happen unless you submerge the car about 6 inches, other than that, your CAI should be fine.

i have the aem cold air intake with the by pass valve. i live in reno and all winter it snowed here i would look at the front of my car and it would be cover with snow build up. didnt effect the car at all even when i would take it through puddles that r hella deep where i work. so u should be fine!!

I would be more worried about water coming in through the doors than getting into the engine. The filter literally sits as high as your knee in front of the wheelwell. If there was a puddle that deep..you shouldnt be driving through it anyway and you deserve what you get.

hehe, one time near where I lived a water pipe from underground broke or something and half a block was in some DEEEP ___ water.. I mean.. water where even an SUV would suffer.. so I can imagine if somebody with an CAI goes through there..

Ive had my K&N for about a month now, no problems. And with the wheel well and the protective water resistant cover the filter comes with, i doubt there will be any problems.

You'd have to dunk the car bad- at least 2 feet of standing water to submerge that filter.
