Default Does everything look normal?

Ive never opened a tc engine whatsoever and took off my valve cover the other day to take a peek and see how it looked. i took some pics and just want to get peoples opinion on how the head looked.

Im also wondering if this is normal on the intake cam or not, it looks like a little nick but i dont kno how it could have gotten there without something going seriously wrong so i figured it was just normal.

No, that does not look normal. Someone spray painted your rubber coolant and AC hoses white and somehow even got overspray on the alternator. So, no, that does not look normal at all.

WTF did you wrap your intake with? Duct tape? Sorry, but that looks like garbage.

i first wrapped it with some heat wrap from autozone to prevent any heat from soaking in, it was silver and looked good, but then the ____ started to peel off after a year and it was gonna leave a sticky residue anyway and that looked even worse, so i had to wrap duct tape around it to hold the heat wrap on just a few days ago... yes i kno thats ghetto, but the ____ was messed up, and im broke. once i finish some more work on the engine im gonna get a black injen one, which should look a lot better, but im not going for show really im worried more about performance first, then show second.
any ideas as what i could do to make it look better besides just telling me it looks like crap?

really tho cmon that pic was extra im worried about the head here???

You should just pull the intake, sand it down and have it powdercoated again. That really looks awful.

As far as I can see everything looks fine.

However sorry someone needs to take the spray paint away from you, that just looks horrible with the hoses painted and everything else painted. Also that duct tape is not doing anything.

thanks ack154 thats a good suggestion. looks like thats what ill do if i wanna same some money rather than buying a new intake. theirs sticky residue and stuff all over it from the heat wrap, so sanding it down and putting a real finish on it would be best.

and dj08tc, like i said.. already..., the spray paint is to see if i liked the color. now im getting real hoses that are already white. and the duct tape does do something... it holds on heat wrap that is falling off and leaving nasty residue behind, due to 90% humidity louisiana air. if i didnt tape it i would have that stuff falling in my engine bay while driving, or id have to go peel it all off and leave nasty residue behind that will catch dirt and dust while driving. i rather just put some tape on it and see how white looks, then ill try putting some black tape on it.

and seriously, no duh im not leavin my intake duct taped forever, i would just have the same problem as i did with the heat wrap, it will peel off and look even worse later. so its obviously temporary.

and anyway, the thread was about if my head was clean and looked like everyone elses and if my cams were okay. thank you thendawg for actually reading the title and the main portion of the post and relieving my concerns.

and you dont think duct TAPE isnt going to leave it sticky. when you use heat wrap use multiple clamps, metal ties, safty wire whatever you can get NOT duct tape

uhmm... the heat wrap was adhesive. it wasnt header wrap, it was for things that got heated from other sources. it was made to keep heat out of something, not in something like headers. the duct tape was not holding on the heat wrap, or even on my intake at all, until the adhesive on the heat wrap failed after about a year of use. and i know how to use header wrap, my headers are wrapped, as you can see, and with metal clamps. I was in a perdicament and had to do something that only took a few mins. pulling off my intake and sanding it will take a while so ill have to do that later when i have time. seems like too many people just want to attack other people on these forums, isnt it supposed to be supporting? i guess not. ill just stick to using it for info/reading and not for getting to know people i have something in common with.
