does scion still deal with INJEN?
it looks like they only use the TRD CAI now. Either that or I'm dumb but, I can't seem to locate it on the scion.com site anymore. I have one and I need it installed should I still take it down to the dealership and have them take 7 hours to install it (probably the only way to keep it warrenty friendly) or can i just bring it to my own mechanic. The dealership is terrible with service. ( 40 bucks to do a oil/filter change)
Injen parts wouldn't be on scion.com... they're not official accessories.
Honestly, an intake should just be a DIY thing. It takes no time at all and just some very basic auto skills. There are at least 1 or 2 DIY articles in the Tech section of the site (Click Features up top, then Tech). Or check your regional forum for a friend to help you out.
The warranty thing is not a concern. The only way it would affect your warranty at all is if the intake caused a problem with your engine. Then that particular repair would not be covered under warranty - no matter who installed the intake.
Now if it were a TRD part, installed by a dealer, it would be warrantied for the remainder of your powertrain warranty.

the injen intake used to be on the site (part of the build your own scion nonsense) I can install it myself I have on my old 240sx I just worried about warrenty issues. thanks.
EDIT: I just called the dealership...they dont really carry much non TRD stuff anymore...and you're right it has nothing to do with the warrenty anymore (only affects it if something fouls up) and you dont have to get it installed though the dealership anyore as well thank god (if there is one).

Oh... part of that "Optomize" program probably. I don't think that really ever took off, so that's probably where you would have seen it.
The warranty stuff would have been the same even if it were through that "program" so it would have worked out just the same.
