Default eBay Intake on 2008 tC

So I am wanting to get an intake for my tC. I just want opinions from people with eBay intakes. Because to me an intake is an intake but I don't know how well eBay intakes really are. If I don't get one off of eBay I am planning on getting a Fujita one.

Go for Injen. You get best gains with Injen. As for ebay... all I can say is be careful with who you do business with.

Dude, I would never put an ebay intake on my tC. Although I did put one on my Astro van, and it rusted into a hunk of crap.

I was probably going to buy a good brand name one. I just wanted to see what others thought. Thanks.

just remember that 07-08 are different that 04-06...so those intakes on ebay that say 04-08 or 04-07 or something like that are INCORRECT. It's either 04-06 or 07-08..there's no one intake that can cover all the years of the TC. To my knowledge, there are no "ebay" intakes for an 07+ TC. I've been searching for a long time and just ended up buying a used Fujita off a member on this forum.

Even anything that says 04 tC should be considered crap. Or at least wrong.

There is no 2004 model year tC. Any tC made/sold in 2004 was a 2005 model year vehicle.

everyone keeps complaining about the "ebay crap" I've puchased an e-bay intake for my tC and it works quite well. I didn't have to worry about broken brackets from injen or any other brand because it was constructed very well. I will post quarter mile gains by this weekend if anyone is interested.

All i did was install a K&N filter, and it sounds and performs great. :-)

Finally, i only paid around $40.00 INCLUDING shipping

If you think that putting on an intake is going to result in shaving some time off.....

wow

I have to say that I also have an ebay intake and have had it on for about 2 years and it is still performing just as well as the day I bought it. It has a great sound which I love!! It still looks ultra shiny as well no rust here. As to the difference in gains between "ebay crap" and injen I am not sure, but whatever it is I am sure it is a minor difference. And for the huge difference in price I can live with the loss of a couple Hp if there is any at all.

Haha... that's what I was thinking. You're not going to be shaving seconds off your 1/4 times with an intake. You'd be lucky to shave a 10th. You'd have better performance out of a set of sticky tires for 1/4 mile.

Those of you that have bought eBay generic intakes and haven't had issues... that's great. Hopefully you won't have any in the future either. But I wouldn't ever put anything like that on my car and still wouldn't recommend any others do either.

i've put a couple e-bay parts on my supre (nothing on the tc yet) and i have no problems. honestly, theres no point getting a intake thats $250+ when it doesn't even give you much power (if any at all). the only reason i have a injen is because i picked it up cheap and it cleans up the engine bay.
i say find a good seller on e-bay and get it for $40.
just because its e-bay, doesn't mean its crap.
i'm also about to get a I/C for the supra for only $550 shipped insead of paying $1000 for a brand name one that will do the same thing.

Ebay is not always crap. It depends on what you buy and who from. For things like intakes i go ebay the difference in performance is minor if any. And if it does break or go over time pick up another one for 40 bucks instead of bouying the 250 dollar one! But as I said b4 mine is still looking good after 2 years. My short ram intake is constructed quite well. I mean really guys there isnt much to a short ram intake.. If you want a little better performance put a aem air filter on it. Just make sure you buy from someone with good feedback and ask lots of questions!

Well I'm not saying all parts on eBay are crap... just the stupid generic "BOMZ" and other POS parts. If you can find a used name brand part on eBay - great. That will probably have no issues. I'm really referring to all of the generic crap parts that spring up.
