Ok what all can the dealerships see when they check your ECU?

 

obviously your trying to hide something if your asking...
so what is it that your worried about them finding?

 

alot. check engine codes, how many times you hit the rev limitor, how many times you've hit the speed limitor, they can probably see how much your average throttle input is, how often the ABS intervenes.

they can also examine the car itself for tell tale signs of driver abuse. a friend of mine took in his car for warranty claim, and they denied it based on obvious driver abuse, what did they see you may ask...well, his front tires were bald after only 7k miles...

 

well im taking my car in to have the ecu read bc I got a speeding ticket and I know I wasn't going that fast so I want to see what the ECU says. Will it be able to say what the fastest speed was?

 

And also so I can prove It wasn't reset is there anyway to reset everything? I am pretty sure you can't unless you have their machine or u unplug the ecu itself.


I'm hoping that mny top speed that I ha ve gone in the car can be shown. (75~ mph) and that will get me out of my ticket for 91 :0

 

is it possible to erase everything on hte ecu?

 

if you want it to prove you got a speeding ticket...why do you need to know if you can erase everything.

and also, i HIGHLY doubt that will stand in court. i dont think the dealer would be able to give you any sort of print out, im sure one of the techs isnt gonna waste his time going to court with you, and theres always the argument that you couldve swapped the ECU. (not saying you did but its very easily done)

 

just pay the ticket and stop speeding

 

nope, doesn't show that, only shows that it has bounced off the speed limitor.

 

ok but anyway am I right that the ECU can't be erased?

 

Your ECU is like your brain! It stores and reads everything important on a car. You can't erase anything off of it.

dude im pretty sure the cost of getting the ecu read is higer than the ticket just pay

 

ok my question has been answered and no it is 100 to have the ecu read and my ticket is 2500.

yeah 2 of my friends ahead of me started racing I kept going 60 in a 55 got pulled over cop said I was racing. It should be all good my friends are coming to my court date to say it was them racing not me and that I was not going 90 mph.

 

you mean a racing ticket in niceville is two thousand five hundred fu<king dollars? Next time this happens ask the cop to show you the radar report...if he cant show you he has no ticket

 

It's more then 1 one for going 90 in 55 one for improper signal and racing.

 

Dude if you think your friends are gonna bone up in court and say they were the ones racing not you you are a sucker..........

Lesson learned here.........in Washington they impound your car,take your liscense,and ticket you........

Get new friends,learn to take a mature stand for yourself in life,sometimes friends influence us to make stupid decisions........

Also hope your Scikotics group does not find out you were racing or say byebye to membership for a while.
