its a little harder to find a unichip tuner atleast out here and they charge about 100 an hour to tune a emanage at alot of shops out here
Actually, I there is a shop in naperville that tunes Unichips on Subarus and they could tune for you at a good price. The unichip is an excellent option and much much better than the e-manage which is known to blow engine due to software issues.

I had the unichip on my WRX for two years making ~300whp and it ran perfectly. I would not even put that POS e-manage on that car because the timing control was garbage.

I just confirmed. Tuan at GRD does unichip tuning. It's right down the street from Fox Valley mall.

I believe they charge $200 for an hour which is plenty of time. That's for the four wheel Dyno though, it may be less with two wheel drive. You may also be able to find an old unichip and have it hard wired. All of the Subaru guys used them for years and have moved on to the Utec because of it's knock control. I may go this route myself eventually.

IMHO i dont feel a stock tc needs a ecu reflash...needs ton of internal motor work and a turbo before you start playing with the computer

i can hit 127 pretty quickly with what i have and with the ____ty stock tires i have , you feel all the power in the lower end of the rpm range and it does just kinda fall flat on its face higher up...and when racing i found that not coming to 6200 rpms but more like 5800 rpms you tend to pull harder in the next gear

when you take it to just before redline and shift it slows instead of goes faster in the beginning of the next gear

try it out

The SAFC is great for small corrections. It is definately not advisable to tune a turbo on it. Lots of people use it on top of a flash or stand alone to tune small variances in temperature or gas. To tune a turbo you need timing control or you will detonate. That's just a fact, especially with the differences in Chicago's gas.

So, if you plan to sell the SAFC, let me know. I'll be staying N/A or supercharged.

You guys are not addressing all the issues.

Piggy backs are all fine and dandy. But with the emanage for instance. There have been known occurances where the scion tC's ECU remaps over the Emanage. Thus negating your savings and turning your 800 dollar investment into a monthly retune. And the ultimate is still buggy.

Unichip does not have that problem (if you went to the turbonetics open house you could have found that information yourself) Wich is one of the reasons why they went with the unichip computer.
