Electrical problem in my 2006 tC
Just recently my dome light fuse keeps blowing , and after that the security system fuse, find out my alternator was bad, i replaced it but then I have the Brake, ABS, LTP, Check Engine warning Lights on, sunroof inop, speedometer inop, odometer inop,
radiator cooling fans inop, A/C inop, very low Idle from time to time. I tried everything. Unplugged ECU, waited like a minute. still the same. unplugged the ABS, ECU. the same and several times disconnected battery.
waited one minute and other times several minutes. but still the same.
Any thoughts in the matter Please! We even tried clearing the DDC with a very expensive and sophisticated Comlink.

Are you the first owner of this Scion? Sounds like it has had some hackneyed installations and work done to it and it is coming out.
Ithink the best bet would be to start going through all the wires looking for cracks in the insulation, shorts, and checking all the grounds.

If you have a friend that works at Toyota, or know of a shop that has the Toyota factory Scan tool, stop by there and get it scanned. Before you do that, recheck all your wires for breaks etc.
Did you change the alternator yourself? You might of reconnected the battery the wrong way causing a backfeed to a module and blowing it.

It seems like with all those systems down you may have blown your main fusible link. I believe it might be a 120A fuselink, but I could be wrong. That fuse is related to the alternator circuit as well as many other electrical components tied to that circuit. I'd check that fuse and also measure charging voltage with a multimeter. Charging volts should be around 13.6 to 14.6.

I checked all the fuses everything is fine I reset the battery and the ECU still not working I don't know what to do. What did Toyota did to ur car to fix it?

Same Exact Problem as glendale...Any solutions??
I have the same problem recently i blown a fuse for the stereo so i change the fuse and the stereo is working but my radiator fans, aircon, speedometer, sunroof is not working then my brake light and abs light stays on. I checked all the fuses everything is fine i reset the battery and the ecu still not working i dnt know what to do. What did toyota did to ur car to fix it?
I have a Scion tC 07 stick, and it has the same symptoms A/C not cooling, radiators not blowing, speedo inop, and sunroof inop (and clock not working)... except I changed all the fuses (the ones related to the A/C, sunroof etc.)
And as soon as I turn on the car those fuses blow... also checked my wiring, all clean... and instead of the brake and ABS lights staying on my engine light stays on (yellow), I also replaced the battery.
Any solutions? What did Toyota do?
