Default Engine after overheating. The Aftermath.

Hey guys,

Sorry, I'm an auto engine noob. My car overheated and it blew my head gasket. Took it to the shop and they resurfaced my block, replaced head gasket, water pump, thermostat and spark plugs. After the resurfacing process, if the job was done correctly, is the engine as good as new or so I be hesitant of future faults?

Thanks in advance.

You block isn't as good as new, you didn't get a new block, you got a head gasket replacement, it should be back to operating spec now.

What i'm not understanding is why it overheated to begin with...did you not see the temperature gauge pegged in the red?

Your comment has nothing to do with the OP's question.
