Default Engine idling smoothly

Hey guys,

I have had my tC for 2 weeks now, it has about 500 miles. It is a manual, the first manual car I've owned, although I did already know how to drive stick (from being a valet for 2 years ^^). But that just means I am not used to OWNING a stick, ie what it is like on a day to day basis.

ANYWAY...

The car is great, no problems AFAIK but when I am idling in Neutral (or with the clutch disengaged.. I know its practically the same) the engine will idle very smoothly but once every 40-70 seconds there will be a VERY faint bump feeling. I watch the tach real close and it looks completely steady, and it is very slight (I only really feel it on the steering wheel). I did not notice this when I first got the car, but then again is it VERY slight and I was nervous as hell driving it at first, so I may not have noticed.

Should this be a concern? I think if I brought it to a mechanic/dealership, it would be almost impossible to convince them that something so slight is even happening. They would have to sit in the car idling for 1-2 minutes and just wait for the little tick.

Please let me know, am I neurotic or is my engine/tranny gonna fall out?!?! Is it normal for a new tC to idle 99.5% smoothly but not 100%?

If you have your AC or any of the fans turned on its probably the compressor. Turn them all off and it shouldnt happen anymore

OK, I'll try that, thanks. I usually have the fans on pretty high...

thats your ***** omg i forgot(like not intercooler, the other thing!)! but that front part of your car that is used for the air conditioner... it vibrates like that because its cooling the engine.... its natural, its good for your engine... everyother minute the "car part" is doin its job cooling the engine down.. and i just repeated that shiznit again....

and i think your gonna get flammed for complaining about this.....

dealerships dont know crap about mechanics... they just know howw to sell that car.... and this supposely problem your having is a normal thing... every car does this, its just the tC reacts different. camry does that civics do that, lexus too but its luxerous quality built is less noticable....
