I'm sick of these noises that come and go.. but this one is new..

Just today, I heard a high-pitched squealing noise only occuring when coasting in low rpm's.. it seems to disappear once rpm's get passed 3000-3500. I thought it was the brakes at first, but I think that's separate. Exhaust leak? I doubt it.. i rev the engine and everything sounds fine.. The squeal only comes when accelerating..

Any ideas?

check your belt. that squeals when bad.

 

yea squeals are probably from your belts

 

The intake makes a squealing whistling kind of sound, and I think it does that that in those rpm ranges. Could this be it?

 

Could be your serpentine belt, but to make sure do the same thing while your looking in the engine bay to pinpoint the origin of the noise.

 

yeah, i realized that it's the intake. not the belts - since i hear it from the driver side more.. but honestly, that's not how my injen cai normally sounds. i've had it for almost 15,000+ miles and this sound is new to me.. could it be the filter itself? it may need some cleaning maybe?

 

and if the filter is the problem, anyone know where to get a replacement filter for my injen cai?

 

It's the intake manifold, not the cai.
