Default Error Code P0793 on 2005 tC..

I do apologize if this appears to seem like I'm posting in the wrong thread.
But maybe I can get help with my issue either way. So I have a 2005 Scion tC.

But since my topic is about the same issue I thought maybe someone could help me out.
Any help is greatly appreciate. I will post under the correct forum for all my tC problems.
I understand if the mods need to move my post.

My Question-
Is the Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor "A" location on the xB the same as on the tC ?

Thank You.

Thanks for the diagram but what color is the sensor tab? and where is the sensor with the starter in the diagram? My code is for the sensor on top of the transmission but I see a plug where the radiator is. A light blue tab on the bolt closest to the windshield. there is a wire on a bolt below the starter? I’m not really a car guy but trying to learn to do simple things like this myself.

Intermediate shaft sensor That’s what the official name is called but I can’t find it. I can clear the code but it keeps coming back now says no signal is detected?

I found this at a competitor's website. Hope it helps.

FWIW - I think you're looking for the "NC" sensor on top of the transmission housing. It's the one closest to the starter. Removing the intake air manifold might make it easier to spot.

Be sure to disconnect the negative battery terminal before disconnecting and or replacing electric/ electronic/ electromechanical parts. (It's a good idea to wait 90 seconds before proceeding so the airbag does not deploy.)

Code typically indicates sensor and/or bad wiring in between. To determine which it is:

- 'scope signal at sensor itself. If proper signal with adequate peaks, sensor is OK
- 'scope signal at ECU connector. If signal not identical to at sensor, wiring in between is bad. Typically caused by corrosion on connectors. Spraying some OxGard will usually clean those up.

Would an ohm reading from a micrometer substitute for a scope signal? I assume we're taking oscilloscope (which I don't know how to read.)

Should measure about 500-600ohms at sensor itself. Then measure again at ECU connector for that sensor. Should be identical, otherwise you've got wiring problems in between.

Also sensor may not be sending proper signal if spacing between sensor and trigger-teeth is not correct.
