Default Expansion Valve?

Apparently I have a leak in my Expansion Valve.
How hard could this possibly be to replace?

Toyota wants $850 and I need my A/C working again

Aw, i'm sorry Tinkerbutt (nice name by the way), but it is actually quite the process. physically replacing the valve isn't too too bad, but you need remove your the refrigerant that's in the system and then refill again, and that will require a pump and the refrigerant recovery system and gauges that only mechanics usually have. Depending on where you live, I could physically replace it for you and then you could have the dealership drain your system and refill it. That would save you probably $600. But yeah, it is quite the process, but physically replacing it for me would probably only take a little over an hour or two. That's why they are charging you so much because A/C can be a pain. PM if you want. Maybe you could even do it if I explain to you.
