Fujita Intake & CEL?
Maybe a bunch of repeat thread posts but here's the story. I had my Fujita intake on for quite some time now. Probably about 3500 miles on my 08 tC. It was just recently that it was raining and all of a sudden the CEL came on. I thought it was a physical motor problem so I took it to the dealership to see what was wrong. They said it related to my intake and that it's the sensor thats going off. Well I popped the hood to check it out and everything seems fine. The hoses were tight, the sensor was on properly with no gaps, the filter was still clean. I can't figure out why it came on. I don't have aftermarket headers so I know that ain't the problem. I don't have those code readers nor do I know how to get one & money is really tight since being laid off from work. Any idea what it could be?
go to schucks and let them know u need to borrow a OBDII scanner or go to autozone. then post up the cost and let us know what it is. My CEL light came on when i put in my fujita intake but my MAF was not in all the way and it was dirty and that was a quick fix.... other than that... all i can think of is that your car needs to be reset.. a quick way of doing this is by taking the negative terminal off your battery, push your brakes, then hook your battery back up. That should reset the car but once u start it up, let it idle for 10 minutes or so.
if the sensor is dirty, then the code reader should give u a P0171 or P0101 which means the MAF is dirty.. gotta take it out and buy a cleanser for it.... i bought one and its like a clear spray that dries up really fast and it cleans it up. If the code is something else and it says your car is running too lean in bank 1 or something, then you just need to reset your car and have it idle... man... i've had everything happen to my car... lol so i've seen a lot of these CEL codes...
oh, of COURSE its your CAI! why didnt we think of that and your dealer did?
oh, by the way, your aftermarket exhaust is causing your headlights to go out and the TRD sticker you have is giving you 50whp. </sarcasm>
yea, just go to an autozone or similar place and get the code read.

don't worry, i have a fujita intake and my CEL comes on as well when i drive in rain or if there's just like realllllllllly heavy moisture. it'll go off when it dries up and you drive for about 20 miles or so.

i just installed my fujita CAI and i had the same problem..i reset it once and it came on again. I dont know what to do so im going to tighten my mounts and look at getting that MAF sensor cleanser and cleanin it off...if that doesnt work, what else can I do? any suggestions?
that is the only thing i can think of would be to make sure everything is on tight and that cleaning the sensor. did you try to unhook th ebattery for a few minutes and put back on? sometimes that will clear it as well
yeah i did all that, cleaned it, tightened everything, reset the ECU and it still comes on after about 10 miles of driving.. Is there some kind of ECU upgrade chip or something I can install to tell my car that the increase in air flow is good! haha im running out of ideas...
