Default Good Sounding Automatic Setups

Hi everyone, I've done some searching, and I cant find what i'm looking for. What exhaust setups are good for Automatic tC's?

I want to do DC Headers, and an HKS exhaust, but i've heard this is a no go for the auto tC.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

you can still use them on your auto. it just won't sound the same as a manual.

everything will bolt up the same, and I don't think a couple hundred rpm will be a huge difference in sound

Where did you hear this?

Pretty sure the autos & sticks have same redline. Both will sound the same at any given RPM's.

I want something amazing sounding, and i dont want that rasp, i want a good sound for my auto. ucsdtc, do you have and sounds from your exhaust you could post? And as Scott8 said, do you have a header as well?

I don't really understand what a header does except a bit more horsepower, and a shiny car part.

the engine is exactely the same, the only difference is that if a manual doesn't upshift, it will bounce off the rev limitor, the automatic will automatically upshift at redline. your not going to hear a difference between a manual and automatic tc. same engines, same exhaust, same sound. your transmission has nothing to do with the sound an engine makes. your engine, intake, exhaust and rpms all determine that.

The header opens up the exhaust route for the tC. the aftermarket header also deletes the first cat in our exhaust system. Most people experience a lot of rasp on our tC with the use of the aftermarket header. if you did a search for headers on here I am sure you'll find a lot of tips like adding a resonator to mellow out the rasp.

If you are going to do an exhaust, also get an S-pipe to open up the gains as well since an axelback like the HKS give you 2-4 hp if that on a dyno

okay, imagine this, two scion tc's sitting side by side, 100% stock. the only difference is one is manual, and one is automatic. if i put both of them in neutral and rev the engine, can you tell me which one is which purely by the sound?

now lets add trd exhaust to both, hear any difference revving in neutral between the two of them? add monster motorworks headers, hear a difference yet? no? because the tranny has nothing to do with how the car will sound.

now do you think that once in gear, these cars will suddenly sound completely distinctive of one another?
