Ground wires?
So do the ground wire kits really help with response?

No. They are not worth the money. It's all psychological. If they're done right, they can look good inside an engine bay, but that's it. There's no gas mileage bonus, no response time bonus, no efficieny bonus.
If you have a BIG audio setup, it may help there...but that's it.
If you want throttle response, a lightweight flywheel or lighter wheels and tires will do you TONS better than anything else.

I just bought some 4 guage and ends for like 25 bucks total and did the whole thing myself... it was easy, and not a bit of difference... just looks better.... (Killed that ugly ground lead to the battery and made my own lead from the two wires to one 4 guage up to the battery... )
Gonna be much nicer when I wire my upcoming rear setup with 0 guage and change to top of that side's stock wiring out too...
99.9 percent looks/ .1 percent chance of better performance

to be honest, my idle dropped on the car after i installed the kit
and that was proven with the tach..dropped like 100 RPM...u can hear it too, sounds like the car shuts off
and my audio did sound a little better...but theres a good chance that was psychological

I think it's a Mental thing.... I have three things that I can see my idle on... my Heads up Display, My APEXi SAFC-II, and my OBD-II reader and all three of them are identical to what they were before.... it hovers right at 695-700 when warmed up.
mine hovers right at 600 ish, after warmed up...sometimes dropping to 550ish
ground wires "decrease the difference in voltage between common ground points(body, engine, - battery terminal) to make the electrical components more efficient"
thats what they are supposed to do

Ground wires are beneficial for cars with older technology. They were installed back in the day because spark plugs would ground to the battery. These days spark plugs are usually on a seperate circuit all together and do not ground to the battery.
Thats where all the claims come from. The motors got better spark with motors that were not as efficient as todays motors, that increased power, mileage and all that other stuff.
Putting a ground directly to the alternator can help with aftermarket stereos and whatnot.

the tC shouldn't hover at 600... it should be right at 700, that's what it's OEM specs are, and what it is supposed to idle at. 600 is low...
With coilpacks right above the spark plug, and grounding out right there, and one of my ground points right next to them, you'd see an increase if there was one spark wise... still the same ol' engine for me, looks nifty though.
