Hey i just re-installed my stock header. First start up was fine, other than my CEL code. Thn second start, it started smoking, and making a crackling sound. almost sounded like a bunch of marbles rattling in a can. Anyone have the slightest idea of whats going on?

 

how long was it off,how and where was it stored,and has it been dropped.

 

was it stored anywhere where something could crawl in

 

it's probably been off for 6 months, and my dad stored it in our shed on the floor.

 

sounds like the cat is shot and blocked up!

 

so meaning look for a new stock header?

 

did u owned kittens, puppys, hamsters, or any small pets that magically disappeared. lol j/p

 

i would be lookin for a used header just to be on the safe side

 

alright. i think the guy thats buying my header will give me his stock one too.

 

try taking it off and shaking it both upright and upside down u might have stuff in it or a shot cat

 

now i face another problem. i cant take my header off. all bolts are off, but its just the one location near my alternator.

 

do u have a s/c. if so its really hard to get it off but i used a swivel socket with a short socket. if that dont work use a open end wrench to it but watch out for signs of stripping
