Default Help with AC problem

2006 Scion TC, air conditioner working great, super cold. Started blowing warm air. Came home, popped hood and there was a light greenish oil on top of radiator shroud and under hood, etc. Just bought car a week ago so not a great knowledge of history. Anti freeze is red, not motor oil and guessing ac compressor dumping oil maybe. Not an AC knowledgeable person. Also, when AC is turned on/off not seeing clutch engage/disengage..have not checked fuses yet

Your compressor probably went south.

The low pressure switch will not allow the compressor to engage is there isn't freon in the system.

That is the textbook indicator of a leaking / punctured condenser. It needs to be replaced and this should be done by an EPA certified mechanic since they have the tools to pull vacuum and recharge correctly. I wouldn't go to the dealer on this one, there are usually local mechanics which specialize in ac work. He shouldn't charge you too much, no more then $4-500. An aftermarket condenser should be about $150 or even less.

Thank You for the replies...fortunately after giving it a thorough washing and drying found it on the cooler refrigerant discharge hose..dead small in the middle like it was put there with an awl or nail..odd. nothing even close to touching it as it was in the middle of the pressure hose..

One thing I have learned is these Scions are not plentiful in parts and are pricey, and I own late model BMWs!! Finally found a hose, what a pain in the butt..
